Latest Update
March 26 – Update
Dear Caregivers,
We resumed negotiations with NUHW on March 19 and 20 and wanted to provide you with an update on our progress.
During the sessions, the bargaining teams engaged in robust discussions and presented numerous counter proposals on key topics such as Hours of Work, Overtime and Scheduling, Time Off, Employee Status, Wage Scale and Compensation.
Specifically, in the March 20 session, NUHW presented their compensation and wage scale which largely maintained the framework and details from NUHW’s initial compensation proposal in September 2024. We had a thorough discussion on the specific details of the compensation proposal and asked clarifying questions to ensure the parties are able to make more progress with their compensation proposals going forward. We reiterated our commitment to a competitive total rewards package, balanced with responsible resource management, especially in the face of the tremendous pressures and uncertainty of the future of the federal funding that we rely on to carry out our mission.
Our team is now reviewing the outstanding articles and counter proposals to further facilitate meaningful progress during our next sessions, which are scheduled for April 3, 7, and 23. We look forward to continuing these important discussions with NUHW so we can reach an agreement we can all support and be proud of.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please reach out to your leader or submit them through our negotiation website.
Thank you for your continued service and dedication to USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and our patients.
Respectfully,
The USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Bargaining Team
